LAC Recycling Center Hours: Saturday 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (unless a holiday). Before taking items to LAC, you must get a sticker from Mannington Townhall.
LAC Recycling Center is located at 8 Pecks Corner Road, Harmersville,
and accepts recyclables only – NO TRASH – NO TIRES

SPECIALTY ITEMS

CHRISTMAS TREES: The trash truck will not pick-up Christmas trees. Call Mannington Townhall to schedule pick-up (935-2359 ext. 150) or residents may take them to the Salem County Improvement Authority (935-7900).

GRASS CLIPPINGS & LEAVES: No leaves or grass clippings will be picked up. Homeowners may mulch on their own property, or make their own arrangements for disposal. (Do not put in trash)

EMPTY PAINT CANS: Water based or Lucite paints – Leave can open to dry and then place in regular trash. OIL BASED PAINTS: Must be disposed of at a County “Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day”.

BUILDING MATERIAL FROM REMODELING: Disposal of remodeling or construction debris is the responsibility of property owner. Call the Salem County Improvement Authority @ 935-7900 for disposal details.

WASTE OIL & CAR BATTERIES: Residents may take to the Public Works Department for disposal. CONTAINERS & BATTERIES MUST BE PUT ON THE DESIGNATED CEMENT PAD. NOTE: All alkaline batteries (rechargeable, A, B, C, D and 9-volt) are not considered hazardous waste and should be put in your household trash.

BULK TRASH PICK-UP: Items will be picked up the 2nd & the 4th Friday of the month, unless there is a scheduled holiday. Items too large to place in your trash can are considered “bulk trash”. Call 935-2359 ext. 150 to schedule a pick-up. 48-hours’ notice is required. Bulk items should be placed at curbside by 7 a.m. Residents may dispose of 6 bulk items per year at no charge. Fifteen dollars ($15.00) will be charged for each item over the six-item limit, payable in advance.

  • Bulk Trash: Bulk items include: sofas, box spring & mattresses, doors, desktops or personal computers, computer monitor, portable computers, or televisions, refrigerators, stoves, or items too large to fit in your trash can.
  • Carpet & Wood: MUST BE BUNDLED AND TIED. No more than 50 lbs.

LIMB CHIPPING: Limbs will be picked up the 3rd Monday of each month. Call 935-2359 ext. 150 to schedule a pick-up. 48 hours’ notice is required. Limit to 1 pile of limbs, no more than 4 feet high and 20 feet in length. Limbs must be stacked with the cut end facing the road, and the cut end can be no larger than 6 inches in diameter. NO STUMPS OR THORNS. The Township does not remove downed trees. The chipping service is for pruning of resident’s trees only. No limbs are to be placed for chipping from out-of-Township properties.

TIRES: Call 935-2359 ext.150 to schedule for pick-up. Charges are payable in advance & as follows:

  • $ 7.00 for auto tires with rims
  • $ 6.00 for auto tires without rims
  • $20.00 for truck tires with rims
  • $13.00 for truck tires without rims •

Tractor tires are not picked up – Call the Salem County Utilities Authority @ 856-935-7900 for disposal details.
