2020 Atlantic City Electric Winter Readiness Update

November 20, 2020

Being prepared is a responsibility that we take very seriously, and we encourage others to do the same. We encourage you to assemble an emergency storm kit and prepare a plan for what to do during a power outage or winter storm.  Atlantic City Electric crews will be in the public space, as needed.

Visit atlanticcityelectric.com/mobileapp to download the mobile app, which has many resources to keep customers informed during a storm. More tips, resources and safety information are available at atlanticcityelectric.com.

A  new reporting feature was added this year that allows customers to report a live outage by texting “Out” to report an outage on their mobile device. Atlantic City Electric customers can text “Out” to “20661”. Customers must first text “ADD OUTAGE” to “20661” to sign up for this service.

If a severe storm hits, local weather reports are monitored regularly and the advice of local emergency management officials are followed. AC Electric follows a strategic response plan to restore service to the greatest number of customers first and will work to restore your service as quickly and safely as possible.

Customers are asked to immediately report a downed wire or service issue by calling 1800-833-7476, visiting atlanticcityelectric.com or through our mobile app.

By taking a few simple steps, together we can be ready to stay safe, warm and dry during the winter season, as well as manage our energy usage. For more tips and information to save money and energy all winter long, please visit atlanticcityelectric.com or call 800-642-3780.
